A special order, turned into a limited edition ring. A family friend commissioned us to create a ring to memorialize the animals in her life that have now passed. Not only did it need to have a component of mourning, but also it needed to be durable to stand up for all of her Vermont farm life & chores.
The mourning component is the pear shaped, or teardrop shaped, Moissanite gem. This is a diamond alternative, that looks very similar to a diamond. It cannot be considered a diamond, but a gem that has similar qualities. It is still very hard and durable for everyday wear. Moissanite is a very rare gemstone, and what is on the market currently has been created in a stable environment, of pure silicon carbide, as in nature.
- The band is thick and hammered. It has been oxidized* to enhance the surface texture.
- Size 8.
- *Please note that oxidized sterling silver is still sterling silver. It just has a darkening patina that gives the jewelry a vintage look. Wear can happen over time but can be protected with proper care.
